This is a song I wrote when I learned of the appalling number of shelter animals that have been wrongly euthanized in New York City and beyond due to lack of funding and overall apathy from our legislation and government.

I am donating ALL PROCEEDS of this song to rescue organizations that spend countless hours pulling dogs and cats from death row on limited funds.

Each dollar donated will go directly to rescue organizations Rebound Hounds and Karuna Bully Rescue.

This song would not have been possible with the studio donation from the Institute of Audio Research in Manhattan; specifically Rich Blakin and Dan Grisby.

about

original words and music by Nicole Zuraitis
This song was written after the dog I was supposed to foster was wrongly euthanized. I've fostered 8 dogs since December and each one is a love; "rainbow bridge" is dedicated to those who did not make it.

lyrics

Rainbow Bridge
Words and Music by Nicole Zuraitis 2011

Run, weightless flight, feather light.
Free from the terror of the night
Frail and young, confines done.
Sweeping through fields drenched in sun.

Whistle on the Rainbow Bridge
as you welcome the warmth in
Radiant, the sudden trust you have to swim.

Run, vivid sight, towards the light
Free from the fear the world ignites.

Whistle on the Rainbow Bridge
as you welcome the warmth in
Radiant, the sudden trust you have to swim.

Those harmed within made whole wherein
the bliss paradise healing the vice.
Fly.

Whistle on the Rainbow Bridge
as you welcome the warmth in
Radiant, the sudden trust you have to swim.
